What a week. This weekend AE and I went to Guelph Lake for the day, in part to drop off a couple of things for Albert, so he doesn't go insane trying to understand statistical thermo. Had a little picnic, wanted to canoe but the store wasn't opened until July. I laid down to watch clouds, he laid down to tan. I got to swim a little, and just enjoy the feeling of being in a lake.

It was relaxing, so relaxing that the mental diatribe controls I usually have in place were taking a bit of a break itself.

Next day we went for breakfast, and instead of going home to do chores, AE took me to Niagara-on-the-Lake to walk around a bit, and went to Brock's Monument to sit around and listen to the trees.

The lack of productivity of the whole thing made me antsy, so we went back to his place, and did what I thought we were going to do: clean his place! Dishes, bathroom, bedroom. At least we both clean with the same vigor and standard.

Finally got his engraving done tonight; let's see how he'll like it.

The thoughtful bastard pretended he only got me chocolate bars, only to reveal that he got me a jewelry tree (to store things), and a matching new addition to my modest collection of fashion accessories. He also had killer timing.

Now, I'm just hoping that the weather will co-operate next weekend.

New laptop plus leopard. AE returning tomorrow. Free weekend coming up from usual VBA antics. Serendipitously got to watch the lecture I missed during the TTC strike (woohoo). Time to regroup, get organized, and get down to the business of looking effortless while juggling plates. Wanna burn some CDs of music to grandma and Albert as well.

The end of one tunnel is the beginning of another one. Hopefully, I'll be well prepared. Deep breath.

Duo screen. Creature Speakers. G5 tower. Seeing reflections of birds flying on my glass desk. Having my own "production room". Sunshine on my desk in the morning. New space, new carpets, new paint.

Deep breath now.

Wardrobe swap happened Monday night as it were, as I got home a little earlier to meet my housemates. Last night I got into the office around 3:30pm, and didn't get home till 11:30pm. Caught up on a month's worth of invoicing, and the insanity that has hit us in the office. June is going to be nuts, but I think we're going to make it.

Today was pre-admission. Tomorrow, blood donation. Wednesday, pick up program notes from Lenore for her student recital next Tuesday. Thursday, time to whip out my summer wardrobe. Friday, dinner with Mrs. Tam for her birthday. Saturday, lunch with Tam before he heads out to Beijing for 3 weeks. Sunday, hang out with mom, not sure where to take her yet. But definitely a day trip out somewhere. Indian tonight to catch up with my long lost housemates.

Buzzing around is ok, as long as I'm buzzing around because I'm following wherever the eye of the storm goes. Peaceful, yet exhausting, but all worth it.

The new office is sweet; new carpets were put in Friday, ports and phone lines were all set up in the new place, and the view is awesome. A new space is also motivation to reorganize all the old samples and paper catalogues maybe with the help of some new shelves and new filing folios. Friday was a whirl wind of last minute packing and computer moving (movers won't move electronic equipment), and setting up in the new place reminded me of camp. Dragging heavy computers around, cleaning up the cables, dusting off the printers, troubleshooting issues, bliss.

Ordered a cake from Mandy to pick up on Friday, and took it into Waterloo along with Remi after a morning of live translation for Tam. Played Killer Bunnies and the Battlefield expansion of LOTR, took a nap and got treated to a home cooked dinner by the housemates. Makes me happy that Albert's living with people whom he gets along with.

Pre-admission monday, indian in the evening with the Lees, laptop ordering on Thursday, and taking the bike out for a spin some time in between.
